Viofo's New T330 and T340 barrel style Dashcam range

VIOFO has expanded its dashcam range with two new premium screenless systems — the T330 and T340 series. Designed for drivers who want high-quality footage without a large LCD screen taking up valuable windscreen space, these new cameras offer everything from 4K 60fps recording to multi-camera coverage, infrared cabin recording, telephoto cameras and waterproof external cameras.

The new range gives drivers considerably more flexibility when choosing how much of their vehicle they want to monitor.

VIOFO T330 – 4K 60fps in a discreet design

The T330 series is aimed at drivers looking for a compact, screenless dashcam with a strong focus on video quality.

One of the standout models is the T330 2CH, which provides 4K 60fps front recording and 2K 30fps rear recording. The front camera uses Sony's STARVIS 2 IMX678 8-megapixel sensor, while the rear camera uses the Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675 5-megapixel sensor.

The front camera records at:

  • 3840 × 2160 4K at 60fps

  • 4K 30fps when HDR is enabled

  • Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678

  • F1.8 aperture

  • 140° field of view

The rear camera records at:

  • 2560 × 1440 2K at 30fps

  • Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675

  • F1.8 aperture

  • 160° field of view

  • HDR support

One important point is that 4K 60fps and front HDR are separate settings. Enabling HDR changes the front camera to 4K 30fps.

The T330 isn't limited to a simple front-and-rear configuration either. VIOFO is offering several configurations, including versions with an ultra-wide cabin camera, a telephoto camera and waterproof external cameras.

The T330 3CH adds a 210-degree fisheye cabin camera, while the T330T 3CH replaces the cabin camera with a 4x optical zoom telephoto camera. There are also T330W, T330WW and T330TW configurations for drivers wanting waterproof exterior cameras or combinations of different camera types. Three channel framerate combination drops slightly, 4K 30fps front recording, 2K 30fps rear recording and 2K 30fps cabin recording.

VIOFO T340 – Up to four cameras

If maximum coverage is the goal, the T340 series takes things a step further.

The T340 can be configured with up to four camera channels, with configurations capable of recording 4K + 2K + 2K + 2K. Depending on the model, this can provide front, cabin, rear, telephoto and waterproof exterior coverage.

The T340 3CH is particularly interesting for drivers who want comprehensive coverage without having to install a separate cabin camera.

It combines:

  • 4K front

  • 2K cabin

  • 2K rear

All three cameras can record at 30fps, with HDR supported across all three channels.

The front camera uses the Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678, while the rear camera uses the Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675. The integrated cabin camera uses an OS04J10 sensor.

The cabin camera is particularly useful for rideshare drivers, commercial vehicles and anyone wanting to record what happens inside the vehicle. It features a massive 210° fisheye field of view and four infrared LEDs, helping it capture the cabin in low-light conditions.

Telephoto camera – bringing distant vehicles closer

One of the most interesting additions to the new VIOFO range is the telephoto camera option.

The T340 4CH and T340TW 4CH configurations can include a 2K telephoto camera with 4x optical zoom. This is designed to provide a closer view of objects further down the road, including vehicles and potentially their registration plates.

Unlike simply digitally zooming into normal dashcam footage, optical zoom provides the camera with a physically closer view of the subject before recording.

This could make the telephoto configuration particularly interesting for drivers who want additional detail from further down the road.

Wi-Fi 6, GPS and voice control

Both series also bring modern connectivity features.

The cameras support Wi-Fi 6 using both 2.4GHz and 5GHz connections, allowing users to connect to the VIOFO app for live viewing, playback, downloads and camera settings.

There is also built-in GPS, which records information such as speed, location and timestamps.

Voice control is another useful feature, allowing supported commands such as video protection and taking snapshots without having to reach for the camera.

Parking mode

Parking surveillance is also supported, although drivers will need the appropriate optional power solution.

The HK6-F hardwire kit can provide power for parking mode, including ACC detection and low-voltage protection. The T340 additionally supports advanced parking functions including Hybrid Parking Recording, Low Power Impact Detection and smart geofencing.

The cameras can also work with compatible VIOFO battery packs for drivers who want dedicated power for parking surveillance.

Up to 512GB storage

Both the T330 and T340 support microSD cards up to 512GB, although the memory card is sold separately.

Which series is the T330 and T340 aimed at?

The two ranges take slightly different approaches.

The T330 is centred around a discreet, screenless design with strong image quality and configurations ranging from a conventional front/rear setup to cabin, telephoto and waterproof cameras.

The T340 takes the concept further with greater multi-camera flexibility, including configurations capable of four-channel recording. It is particularly interesting for drivers who want extensive coverage around the vehicle rather than simply recording the road ahead.

Overall, the new VIOFO T330 and T340 series represent a significant expansion of VIOFO's screenless dashcam range. With 4K recording, Sony STARVIS 2 sensors, Wi-Fi 6, GPS, HDR, multiple camera configurations, infrared cabin recording and optional telephoto and waterproof cameras, there are now considerably more ways to configure a VIOFO system around the needs of a particular vehicle.

For Australian drivers in particular, the ability to choose between a discreet front-and-rear system, a cabin-monitoring setup or a much more comprehensive multi-camera installation makes the new T330 and T340 series worth keeping an eye on!
